How glorious the weather has been, feels like spring is well and truly upon us. I love this time of year seeing daffodils and bluebells out in full force. Spring is a time of new beginnings and that’s certainly true this year at The Door. As you may have seen our offices are soon to be moving to a new home and we are all super excited. As with so many things that have happened over the years, this too was absolutely in God’s timing…and while there’s still lots to do to get it ready for us to move in (massive thanks go to Anne and Graham for their incredible work so far) it definitely feels as though it is going to mark the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in the history of The Door.
Meanwhile, we continue to deliver so much great support to those in need, creating sustained outcomes and helping young people and parents realise their true potential. And of course this all comes at a cost so we continue to do all we can in these challenging times to sustain all we are doing.
A new fundraising venture for The Door last month was our very own art exhibition, with art donated by volunteers, staff, service users and supporters. While the final fundraising total is still being counted we are so grateful to all those that donated and bought. More details next month.
And if that’s looking back then we are also looking forward to another aMAYzing 100kinMay. Our annual sponsored challenge is back for a fifth year! This annual event that started during the pandemic has become a regular feature in our fundraising calendar – walk, run, cycle you way to 100km during May and get sponsored to do so – if that’s not for you, do sponsor someone who’s taking part – many of the staff, including myself will be. – Find out more at thedoor.org.uk/100kinmay
And also be on the lookout for details of Isak’s Door2Door walking adventure.
Enjoy the sunshine all and early Easter Blessings to you all!
