Noah is The Door’s Community Youthworker for Cam and Dursley and he is taking on a new challenge in October 2024:

Hi Noah, could you start off by explaining what you are going to be doing?

Yeah, I’m going to be running the Stroud Half Marathon to raise money for the Door.

Great, and why are you excited about taking part in the Stroud Half?

I’m excited about the challenge and the sense of achievement at completing this challenge as I’ve never tried to complete a half marathon before.

Have you done much running before?

Not really, I ran a 5k during lockdown and really enjoyed it so I wanted to push myself further by running a half marathon. I also exercise a lot at the gym and I play basketball so I wanted to try something new.

How’s training going?

Ummm… I’m not really planning on properly training for it, but I play lots of basketball in my free time so I’m continuing to do that. I’m also planning on prepping my body in the lead-up to it by eating healthily and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Why should people sponsor you?

Because I am raising money for a great cause that does amazing things and has amazing people work for them. I also think that the more sponsors I receive, the more I will push myself to achieve a good time.

Why should people support The Door and their support for young people?

Because young people are our future, and it’s a really challenging time to be a young person right now so they could use as much of the Door’s support as possible.

What are you most worried about?

I think I’m most worried about getting injured before the event and letting people down. I’m also worried that completing the half marathon may be more challenging than I anticipated.

What is your fundraising target?

As much as possible. Every contribution counts!

And where can people donate?

You can donate online on my fundraising page: https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/fundraising/stroud-half-marathon-for-the-door
