In December 2016 The Door took part in The Big Give's #ChristmasChallenge16. With the challenge of raising £1000 of donations in just 72 hours! These donations were match funded by pledges from Hobbs House Bakery, Panacea, Green Scout, Inforsight and MBS Systems. Donations started slow but picked up speed in the last 24 hours hitting the target with 1 hour to spare! Not only did we hit our target we surpassed it and with the addition of gift aid the total raised including the pledges was £2252.50! Fundraising Administrator Anne said 'The response to the challenge was amazing, I look forward to next year's challenge' Funds raised in the challenge will go towards unlocking potential and opening opportunities for young people ages 18-25 by enabling The Door to run a community cafe in the Stroud Town centre with free access to computers, the internet and impartial advice and guidance from our team of trained youthworkers.
