While The Door is rooted in Christian Values our services are open access and free for those of any background or belief.
REFERRER GUIDELINES
Please ensure you are completing the correct form for the service you require and that a separate form is completed for every individual looking for support. Click/Tap here for full guidelines
Referrals should always include:
• It is imperative that the views, opinions and voice of the service user are included at the point of referral.
• Key information – including date of birth, full address and contact details of the service user
• Full contact details for the referrer / referring agency
• Signature of the service user

MENTORING Referral Form
Face to Face and Remote Intensive Emotional Support for Young People
This service matches young people with a fully trained volunteer mentor. Mentors will either meet with young people on a regular basis in a public setting that works for both the young person and the volunteer. Or young people will receive a weekly phone call from one of The Door’s Mentoring Gateway team. All volunteers are trained by The Door team, including a module on safeguarding and have completed enhanced DBS checks.

Face to Face Emotional Support for Parents
This service matches individuals with a fully trained volunteer mentor. Mentors meet with parents on a regular basis in a public setting that works for both the parent and the volunteer. All volunteers are trained by The Door team, including a module on safeguarding and have completed enhanced DBS checks.

Part of the Mentoring Gateway – virtual support options, easily accessible by young people from home and from their phones. The Door line (01453 705350) is open 5-7pm on weekdays.

Open on weekday evenings between 5 and 7pm web chat is part of our Mentoring Gateway services offer a range of virtual support options, easily accessible by young people from home and from their phones. Also available are a range of YouTube videos and more. Please share these options with young people you are supporting and help them find the right support option for their needs.
SUPPORT GROUPS 01453 756745
All of our groups run once a month.
Our team coordinate a number of support groups for parents, hosted at The Door Youth Club in Stroud. Both daytime and evening groups are available. If you know of a parent or parents that would benefit from joining a group please call the team to discuss the options available.
FOR YOUNG WOMEN AND GIRLS Referral Form
Mentoring for young women and girls aged 11-17
Part of the Gloucestershire Mentoring Programme this service matches young people with a fully trained volunteer mentor. Young women and girls eligible for this programme include those who have been exposed to multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences and those either at risk of involevment or already involved in the Criminal Justice System.
Mentors meet their mentees on a regular basis in a public setting that works for both the young person and the volunteer. All volunteers are trained by The Door team, including a module on safeguarding and have completed enhanced DBS checks. The Door is providing this service in Stroud and the South Cotswolds. If parents would like to talk to a member of The Door team ahead of a referral or if a referral isn’t an option but support is still needed, please encourage them to request a call from the Family Support Team using this form.
FOR CARE LEAVERS Referral Form
For those aged 16-25 leaving care and starting to live independently.
This service matches young people with a fully trained volunteer mentor. Mentors meet with young people on a regular basis in a public setting that works for both the young person and the volunteer. Mentors may also support young people with more practical support or tasks to help them move towards living independently. All volunteers are trained by The Door team, including a module on safeguarding and have completed enhanced DBS checks.
YOUTH CLUBS Opening Hours
For young people aged 11-17
A safe space to hang out with your friends. The majority have free entry and depending on which centre is local to you have a range of activities including table tennis, games consoles, cooking and music.
ALL SERVICES ARE FREE
Yes really! The Door’s services are free for all to access and there is no expectation that you will make any financial contribution towards your support.
