Christmas Presence’, The Door Youth Project’s annual event is back in town! Patron Christmas Presence poster 01of The Door Mary-Jess Leaverland, winner of the Chinese X Factor and her friend Official UK Classical Chart topper Rebecca Newman are coming to Stroud for a night of Christmas celebration and carols on the 13th December.

Harry Gardner, Fundraiser for The Door Youth Project says:

”We’re ecstatic to have such renowned singers, coming to Stroud to support the work of The Door Youth Project. Mary-Jess actually won our Undiscovered Youth Talent Contest back in 2011 and from there she’s gone on to sing the Downton Abbey theme, to perform Abide with Me at the 2012 FA Cup Final and she released her debut album Shine on Decca Records.”

Joining Mary-Jess is Rebecca Newman, who is often referred to as “The Peoples Soprano”. She has shared the stage with Russell Watson, BLAKE and Aled Jones to name a few. In 2013, Rebecca began working on her new album, for which she and Mary-Jess recorded the duet Sull’aria and the album went straight to Number 1 in the Official UK Classical Album chart. Christmas Presence will see the pair performing this song for the public for the very first time – their breathtaking vocals are not to be missed!
Rebecca’s album is called Dare to Dream, featuring the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted and arranged by Paul Bateman and produced by Gareth William and James Fitzpatrick. Rebecca has sang at many a prestigious venues and she performed live on television for the Rugby League World Cup 2013, singing the anthems for six different teams across three matches!

Just like last year, Christmas Presence promises to be a great night with all of your favourite carols. We are so lucky to be having such talent coming to our door step, it is a night you won’t want to miss!
