This month’s Director’s Chair come from newly appointed Director of Service Delivery, Chris. (Previously Youthwork Manager)
“I am excited to be taking up a new role within The Door this month and I’ll be starting immediately as the Director of Service Delivery.
Over the coming months, I will still be working closely with our team of Community Youthworkers while working with the wider delivery team to develop a model for the future of service delivery at The Door. As part of this I will also be immersing myself in the world of The Door’s Intensive Support team.
It is with great privilege that one of my first acts in this role is to announce our successful bid for the new youth provision contract in Stonehouse. This new contract will run until March 2028 and I can scarcely believe it has already been 3 years since our last negotiation. The confidence that Stonehouse Town Council have in the partnership with The Door is testament to the immense quality of provision delivered there over such a long period, especially over the the period of the last contract, first by Isak and now Willow as well as all the sessional staff.
The outcomes in Stonehouse have elevated to a new level with engagement from young people at a record high standard. I want to express my sincere gratitude to all those who were involved in the bid and of course to Isak & Willow who are responsible for making The Pod, the gold standard in youth provision. With sustained funding and passionate, talented staff, The Door is excited to continue its support of young people in Stonehouse to reach their potential and provide new opportunity for the most vulnerable in the community.
