We are proud to be part of the Gloucestershire Mentoring Programme (GMP) where The Door plays a dual role both as a provider and as the host for the project coordinator.

GMP offers young “at risk” females the chance to form a long-lasting relationship with a trained volunteer mentor.

GMP makes an amazing addition to The Door’s existing mentoring provision, offering trauma-informed, person-centred mentoring opportunities.

Specifically, the chance to form a long-lasting trusted adult relationship with a trained volunteer mentor. Mentoring helps build resilience and boosts confidence, empowering mentees to have a more positive future.

Working alongside 6 partners across the county, The Door is delivering GMP in the Stroud District and South Cotswolds. Where we are specifically focussing on supporting young women and girls between the ages of 11 – 17 years old.

If you know a young person who might benefit from the free support the Programme offers (or you are that young person), you can visit gloucestershirementoringprogramme.co.uk to apply.

If you have a heart for understanding and supporting young people and can spare some time. We would love to talk to you about becoming a volunteer mentor. No experience is required and full training will be provided. – Visit thedoor.org.uk/volunteer to apply. Or contact the team on 01453 756745

The seven delivery organisations collaborating to provide this service are: 1625IP; Breathe; Nelson Trust; Thames Valley Partnership; The Door; WAM Youth; and Young Gloucestershire. More details can be found on the programme’s dedicated website: gloucestershirementoringprogramme.co.uk

Gloucestershire Mentoring Programme is funded by the CHK Foundation.
