Community Youthworkers

With our youthwork services being increasingly in demand, we currently have an exciting opportunity for two experienced youthworkers to join our vibrant, award-winning team and head up our youthwork in one of two key community hubs – Stroud or Wotton-under-Edge.

The Door Youth Project, Stroud
Part-time, 16 - 20 hours per week
JNC scale points 8 – 11 (£10.21 – 11.49 per hour)

The Door is a Christian youth charity, established in 1991 in Stroud, Gloucestershire for the benefit of all young people aged 11 to 25 and their families. It’s a place where every young person and their parents can feel safe, happy and valued, with the best  possible opportunity to reach their potential.

Reporting to the area Community Youthwork Coordinator, you would be responsible for running youthwork sessions in youth centres and detached youthwork in your area, and for developing relationships with stakeholders including town councils, schools and the police.

The role includes preparation, delivery and administration of sessions to provide a comprehensive needs-based youthwork programme, including a range of positive activities, personal and peer support, and providing access to information, advice and training.

You should have a professional youthwork qualification and/or substantial relevant experience, along with an awareness of the issues facing young people today and the ability to communicate effectively with both adults and young people.
