Sessional Youthworker

The Door Youth Project, Stroud

Part-time, flexible hours

The Door is a Christian youth charity, established in 1991 in Stroud, Gloucestershire for the benefit of all young people aged 11 to 25 and their families.  It’s a place where every young person and their parents can feel safe, happy and valued, with the best possible opportunity to reach their potential.

We are currently looking for an experienced youthworker to assist our Community Youthwork Coordinators in running youthwork sessions in youth centres and detached youthwork across Stroud District.  Duties include the preparation, delivery and administration of sessions to provide a comprehensive needs-based youthwork programme, including a range of positive activities, personal and peer support and providing access to information, advice and training.

You should have a Level 2 Youthwork qualification or equivalent, and an understanding of the core principles of youthwork and their implementation, along with an awareness of the issues facing young people today and the ability to communicate effectively with both adults and young people.

You will need to be available for late afternoon and evening sessions, with some weekend working, and be able to access our locations across the Stroud District.
