There’s been plenty happening in our Youth Centres throughout February. This month’s theme is ‘Feel The Love’ looking at healthy relationships and raising awareness of Domestic Abuse.

Stroud welcomed speakers from Stroud Women’s refuge; raising awareness of Domestic Abuse

In Avening the young people created collages representing their emotions relating to the different people in the lives and North Nibley enjoyed karaoke at their PJ Party

The Stroud  Youth Centre enjoyed a visit from our neighbourhood warden, who stopped by for a game of pool and to drop of lots of fun freebies for the young people

The team also tried out their newly donated Thermomix to make tasty sorbets.

Trips with #TheDoorOnTour during February Half Term:

The Stroud team headed down to the Link Centre in Swindon with 14 young people for an exciting afternoon on the ice.

Volunteer Bev said “There was a buzz of excitement from everyone on the bus, eager to get there and start skating’  Young person Roxy said ” I was surprised at how cold it was so I’m glad I took warm socks.” ” it was really fun, I enjoyed it even though the falling over part hurt a bit.”.

Young people from the Cam and Dursley centres spent an afternoon at Air Hop in Bristol. Senior Youthworker Frankie said: “It was mixed group and mixed ages, but all young people engaged brilliantly with one another. Firstly we had a session of trampolining. The young people really enjoyed this and didn’t want to leave when the hour was up! Afterwards we went to Nandos for lunch and as an extra treat we stopped of at Mcdonalds on the way home so the young people could get McFlurrys. We had a great day and the young people are already asking when they can go back!”

Don’t forget to keep up with the team on Facebook.
