website-image-wottonAs we settle back down into the new academic year, we have lots of really exciting things happening across the work of The Door.

Over the coming weeks we will be launching new youth work sessions in Wotton-Under-Edge, Cainscross and Cashes Green. We’re excited to be partnering with local councils and churches in this work, as we seek to meet the needs of young people in their own communities.

This month we welcomed Jess Glanfield who will be heading up our new project supporting young people as they leave the care system, and also taking over the mentoring mantle in Archway School. The Door’s relationship with Archway continues to go from strength to strength, and we will be providing a pastoral team at lunchtimes with youthworkers from Stroud Christan Fellowship and Minchinhampton Baptist Church.

Also, I’m delighted that our patron, Mary-Jess Leaverland will be joining us once again this year for our annual Christmas Presence concert on Friday 9th December at St Laurence Church in Stroud. She’ll be showcasing her new Christmas Album as part of her Prayer to a Snowflake national tour. The evening will also feature our own youth choir, with young people who’ve not performed before getting an opportunity to sing with a star! I’d like to thank Murrays Estate Agents and HRML for sponsoring the evening – we’re still looking for another local business to become a main sponsor and receive some free tickets, could you help?
