CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Following a successful career in Leadership Development, Victoria joined The Door team as Family Support Team Leader in 2011 and has held various roles until most recently in 2021 becoming CEO. In this role, she is delighted to drive the strategic leadership of The Door in service delivery, marketing and fundraising. And she is excited to bring her own style of leadership to every part of our delivery, enabling the team to be servant-hearted while providing high-quality support to secure the most effective outcomes.

As well as working at The Door Victoria is a Reader in The Church of England and in her spare time enjoys hiking, crocheting and walking her dogs.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Graham has been connected with The Door since the very beginning in 1991 and can even claim that the founding meeting was held in his house. He was a trustee and treasurer for 10 years when it was a smaller operation, and has been employed by The Door since 2015.  His current role as Chief Operating Officer includes responsibility for finance and HR.

Outside of work, Graham attends All Saints Church in Bisley and is a regular musical director for shows at the Cotswold Playhouse in Stroud.

INTENSIVE SUPPORT MANAGER

Shona first joined The Door as a volunteer youth mentor, supporting young people one to one on a weekly basis. Following the expansion of The Door’s Family Support Service in 2018 Shona joined the team part time as Family Support Team Leader and in 2021 became our Intensive Support Team Manager. In this role Shona looks after The Door’s team of volunteer support workers as well as supporting parents 1:1 and hosting our Parent Connections support group.

When she isn’t at The Door Shona is a Mum of two and finds joy by cycling, reading and spending time with family. She is always up for learning new things and wholeheartedly believes, in a world where you can be anything, be kind.

INTENSIVE SUPPORT TEAM LEADER

Debbie joined The Door team in 2016 as a volunteer mentor and very soon took on the paid role of Schools Mentor in March of 2017. Soon after we were delighted to receive funding to set up support for Care Leavers (Door To The Future) providing mentors to support young people who have had experience of the care system, either as they leave care and start to live independently or as extra support up to the age of 25. In 2022 Debbie became Intensive support team leader and oversees all our mentoring provision for young people.

When she isn’t working for The Door Debbie also works for Dursley out of school club. She and her husband have three grown up daughters and a granddaughters. She enjoys walking her dog, and gardening with the help of her rescue hens.

FAMILY SUPPORT PRACTIONER

Before working for The Door, Sandra was a Secondary School Teacher of English and Drama. Increasingly involved in the mental and emotional welfare of the students, Sandra trained as a Person-Centred Counsellor, developing a special interest in children and young people. She joined The Door as a voluntary support worker in 2013 and following the expansion of The Door's family support services, she became our Family Support Practitioner in 2015, developing and delivering the Family Face Time project and, as an accredited Triple P Facilitator, our parenting teens course. She can also be found supporting young people in schools, Sandra is committed to nurturing personal growth in others, supporting them on a journey of transformation as they work to receive the gifts of life, both well and poorly wrapped.

When she isn't at The Door, Sandra enjoys spending time with family and friends, her 2 dogs and 2 cats. She is a walker, cyclist, a bit of a foodie and loves to travel. Literature and Theatre are her all-time passions.

GLOUCESTERSHIRE MENTORING PROGRAMME: PROGRAMME MANAGER

Elisha joined The Door team in November 2021 as the Programme Manager for the Gloucestershire Mentoring Programme. Bringing with her a wealth of experience working with and supporting volunteers after almost ten years of working with charities in Gloucestershire. She recently worked in supporting vulnerable people who experience addiction through mentoring and is excited to be taking this experience into her work at The Door.

Away from The Door Elisha enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking and enjoying good food and exploring the wilderness in Scotland.

MENTORING GATEWAY COORDINATOR

Mike first came to The Door as a mentee looking for support. Once he was back on his feet he wanted to give something back and Mike started as a volunteer mentor in 2016. Before joining The Door team Mike studied Health and Social Care, worked as a freelance makeup artist and worked for Samaritans. In 2019 Mike took on the leadership of a volunteer-led pilot for the 'Mentoring Gateway' phone support line. After the pilot Mike joined The Door team 'proper' in 2020 as Mentoring Gateway Coordinator. His job is to call young people that need low level support or that are waiting for a face to face mentor to get to know them and provide support over the phone. 

Away from The Door you can usually find him studying for a Psychology and Counselling Degree, playing around with make up, dying his hair (again!) or playing with his cats Oscar and Bam.

MENTORING GATEWAY SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Maya joined The Door team in 2022. Maya started by training as a Volunteer Mentor then got a job at The Door as a Gateway Mentoring Support Assistant.
Maya speaks French and English. She has a dog and a cat and loves walks in nature, art and music.

MENTORING GATEWAY SUPPORT ASSISTANT / SESSIONAL YOUTHWORKER

Gina joined The Door in 2022 as a Sessional Youthworker. She is from Kenya and after working in the airline industry and travelling the world for over a decade, Gina decided she'd like to be more grounded and give back to her community by using her diversity and wealth of experience to inspire and encourage young people to aim for the skies, and that's how she found the Door.

Later that year, Gina also joined the Intensive Support Team as a Mentoring Gateway Support Assistant.

Away from The Door, Gina enjoys hiking with her husband, gardening, and weaving beautiful artefacts through the art form called Macramè. She is also studying with the aim to be a qualified counsellor for young people in the future.

MENTORING GATEWAY SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Katie's first connection with The Door was as a young person, attending youth centres and receiving support. She went on to become a telephone support volunteer before joining the staff team in 2022

Away from The Door Katie is studying Health and Social Care, volunteers elsewhere and enjoys baking and dying her hair.

MENTORING GATEWAY SUPPORT ASSISTANT / SESSIONAL YOUTHWORKER

Kai started at The Door as a volunteer mentor before joining The Door team as a Sessional Youthworker in 2021.

In 2022 Kai also joined the Intensive Support Team as a Mentoring Gateway Support Assistant, providing telephone mentoring support for young people.

Away from The Door Kai is studying Drama and Acting at UWE in Bristol and hopes to be a TV actor some day.

GLOUCESTERSHIRE MENTORING PROGRAMME: PROGRAMME COORDINATOR

Jill joined The Door as Coordinator for Gloucestershire Mentoring Programme in October 2021. In this role, she oversees the delivery of this early intervention service that’s being offered by a collaboration of seven trusted mentoring organisations, including The Door.

Passionate about fairness, Jill is drawing on 30 years’ leadership and management experience in schools and then local government to establish the Programme, which supports girls and young women at risk of ending up in the Criminal Justice System, helping them to achieve better life outcomes.

Away from The Door, Jill likes to be out and about with family and friends. At home, she enjoys entertaining, usually has a book and a textile project on the go, and likes to spend time in her garden, pottering and relaxing in the spa.

GLOUCESTERSHIRE MENTORING PROGRAMME: PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATOR

Teresa started at The Door as a volunteer mentor before joining the staff team to support GMP in 2024.

YOUTHWORK MANAGER

Having caught the vision of The Door Chris joined the team in 2021 as Finance and  HR Assistant. Not long after he started, the role of Youthwork Manager was introduced.  Much more fitting for Chris' experience and expertise.

In this role Chris manages the youthwork branch of The Door including illuminate: Empowering the youthwork team, ensuring quality of delivery and exploring exciting new areas of development. Chris brings over a decade of experience working with young people in church, schools and community contexts and is full of optimism to bring all that he has in serving the young people and our fantastic team.

Away from The Door, Chris is a proud Ireland rugby & Liverpool football fan and although he does not possess any great skill in either of those sports, he particularly enjoys hiking, bodyboarding, weightlifting and tennis. He is also a campervanning enthusiast and would likely talk one's ear off about this given half the chance. Chris and his wife Heather have 2 children, who have recently adopted some Guinea Pigs.  Together they belong to Thornbury Baptist Church and are passionate about supporting people in their local community and exploring faith. Chris is always willing to pray for anyone who would like it.

COMMUNITY YOUTHWORKER

Noah joined The Door team in November 2020 as a Sessional Youthworker in the Cam and Dursley Team before stepping up to become Community Youthworker  2021. Noah looks after youthwork in the Dursley area in centres and the community.

Away from The Door Noah enjoys both watching and playing basketball as well as getting creative with photoshop.

COMMUNITY YOUTHWORKER

Isak joined The Door team as a Sessional Youthworker in 2018 and stepped up into the role of  Community Youthwork Coordinator for the Stroud area in 2019. Isak is responsible for all our Youthwork activities in and around Stroud Town, Stonehouse and Avening.

Before working for The Door Isak completed  placement with Student Ministries in Oxford working with both the universities and a number of churches.

Away from The Door Isak is a big sports fan, supporting both the Swedish and British National teams as well as local FGR. Isak is also a member of the Cotswold Players.

 

 

PIONEER COMMUNITY YOUTHWORKER

Before working for The Door Willow was a leader at a local guides group. She joined The Door team in 2019 as a Sessional Youthworker, as part of the Stroud area team working in Stroud, Stonehouse and Avening as well as in Archway School. Following our 2021 restructure Willow became Pioneer Community Youthworker and is responsible for helping develop The Door's youthwork provision in new ways and in new areas. She loves to come up with new and interesting things to do in sessions and is willing to try anything! Willow is especially creative and is usually responsible for any arts and crafts taking place in sessions. 
Away from The Door she can be found managing a local shop, swimming or dying her hair a crazy colour. Willow is also a volunteer mentor at The Door.

SESSIONAL YOUTHWORKER

Tracy joined The Door team in 2020 as a Sessional Youthworker in the Cam and Dursley Team. Her role is to support the lead youthworkers in sessions and to help them run smoothly. With over 20 years experience of working with young people Tracy is also a qualified therapeutic Counsellor and worked in this capacity in a Secondary School for eight years.

Away from The Door, Tracy is Community Support Officer for Jenner community at Rednock School, Mummy to Emily & Samuel. and if she ever has some free time, loves to bake, enjoys musical theatre and catching up with friends.

SESSIONAL YOUTHWORKER

Morgana joined the door as a sessional youth worker in 2022, her role being to support the community youthworkers run sessions for the youth club. Morgana loves to bring her creativity into sessions and can always be found wherever any arts and crafts is taking place.

Outside of the door Morgana enjoys making lots of crazy art, up cycling clothes, and having a dance.

SESSIONAL YOUTHWORKER

Tim joined The Door team in 2022 having lived in London and Bermuda, he settled in the Stroud area in 2010.

Tim has huge respect for  The Door and the invaluable work it has carried out over the past 30 years. He is delighted to now be playing a small part in helping to continue and further that work."

Away from The Door Tim is an author and former journalist.

SESSIONAL YOUTHWORKER

Joe joined The Door team in 2021 as a sessional youthworker. Supporting our Community Youthworkers to organise and run sessions in our youth clubs.
Away from The Door, Joe enjoys playing video games, making YouTube videos and looking out for dark fantasy books to get lost in."

SESSIONAL YOUTHWORKER

Francesca joined The Door as a Sessional Youthworker in 2021, her role is to support the session lead and the young people in the centres.  With a background in studying Child Care and Education she has a passion for helping young people in the local community.

As well as working at The Door Francesca is working on completing her college diploma and is going on to study neuroscience at university.

Harriet joined The Door team in 2023 as a Sessional Youthworker, bringing 7 years of experience volunteering at youth clubs and camps. Away from The Door she enjoys travelling, gaming with friends, and all kinds of good food.

SESSIONAL YOUTHWORKER

Oli first joined The Door as a volunteer youth mentor in 2022 before becoming a Sessional Youthworker in 2023. Oli is qualified at level 3 in counselling skills and is currently working towards a diploma in therapeutic counselling.
Away from The Door Oli can be found in the gym, playing and watching football.

SESSIONAL YOUTHWORKER

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Anne started at The Door as a volunteer in The Door shop in 2013, since then she has completed a business administration apprenticeship in partnership with Stroud College and a Level 3 Diploma in Digital Marketing. Becoming Operations Manager in 2022.  Anne manages The Door's marketing, databases, process and other behind the scenes systems. The other part of her role sees Anne organise The Door’s fundraising events and activities including street collections and concerts. She is also on hand to provide support for anyone raising money for The Door and as tech support to the staff team.

When she isn’t at The Door, Anne is secretary of both Churches Together in Stroud and Stroud Methodist Church, is a Director of Ignition Gloucestershire and can always be found at the Fairford Air Show every July.

BID WRITER

Antoinette joined The Door team in 2023 and works alongside other members of the Fundraising Team to develop fundraising bids. With over 30 years’ experience in senior management roles in the skills, policy and education sectors, Antoinette brings experience of every aspect of the bidding process and a unique ability to listen to colleagues’ ideas and then craft those ideas into a persuasive bid narrative.

Supportive of positive mental health and wellbeing, Antoinette has undertaken counselling training, is a Mental Health First Aider and volunteers for a crisis helpline.

Away from The Door, Antoinette enjoys socialising with friends and family, walking, upcycling furniture and spending time with Otis, the dog.

INTENSIVE SUPPORT ADMINISTRATION COORDINATOR

Like many of The Door team, Jules started as a volunteer youth mentor in 2020 before joining The Door staff team in 2022. Jules is currently working towards completing her Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling at Stroud College. As Intensive Support Administration Coordinator Jules looks after the behind-the-scenes admin and coordination for the Intensive Support team. In addition to this role Jules works as a Sessional Youthworker in Dursley and supports our partnership working with local Primary Care Networks.

Away from The Door Jules can be found exploring nature, being creative or enjoying live music.

HR AND FINANCE ASSISTANT

Stacey joined The Door team in 2022 as HR and Finance assistant. She enjoys working with numbers and is excited to be working for an organisation motivated by Christian values.

Away from The Door Stacey loves being outside and going on adventure with her 2 boys, attends Thornbury Baptist church and plays netball in the Avon league.

CLEANER / DATA ADMINISTRATOR

Peter had just been made unemployed when he was offered his job at The Door. Although he is not directly involved in any of the youthwork he has gained an appreciation for the work that's done by The Door. He also enjoys walking around the beautiful valleys and communicating via Amateur Radio.

THE DOOR SHOP MANAGER

Anne has been manager of The Door shop since 2012, and with the support of her team of shop assistants, takes on the task of running The Door’s charity shop in Stroud. As well as sorting donations and serving customers Anne looks after our wonderful team of shop volunteers.

Away from The Door Anne enjoys being creative which includes refurbishing her vintage dolls house and can often be found holidaying with her family in their Motorhome (even in the snow!)

Owen started at The Door as a volunteer in The Door Shop in 2016. He volunteered in between completing an assisted internship at AquaJardin and his College Studies. He passed his Preparation for Work and Life course in early 2018 and joined The Door Shop team as a Shop Assistant later that year. In his spare time Owen continues to volunteer in The Door Shop and enjoys model making - he has a collection of over 20 character models!
