On Tuesday 3rd December 2024 over 200 young people, parents, volunteers, supporters and staff from local youth charity The Door packed out The Subscription Rooms with excitement and anticipation for their annual Awards and Celebration Night.

During the evening 45 awards were given out in 5 categories.

Firstly to the Door’s service users who had made significant progress in their lives over the last year. Amongst them were parents stepping out of their comfort zone, young people with improved resilience against adversity and countless challenges overcome.

Also awarded were the staff and volunteers that had gone the extra mile this year to ensure young people’s voices were heard and services sustained.  The third awards went to stakeholders such as PCSO’s and local NHS staff that had had a significant impact on their local community in 2024.

Volunteers also received recognition for their long service with awards for those in their 3rd and 5th years.

Then finally the prestigious Golden Hinges.
