Hi, I’m Becky and I am a new sessional youthworker at The Door.

At the age of 22, with Uni and a years internship behind me, where I explored both children’s work and youthwork, I finally decided that youthwork was what I wanted to do. The first time I walked into The Door, I got such a warm welcome and I just knew that this was a place I wanted to be.

I’m a local girl, having grown up in the area and I went to school in Stroud, so I love that I am getting to work with young people who are growing up here too. I’d describe myself as kind, bubbly and always smiling and I like to think that if I smile, it encourages the people around me to smile too.

I’ve really enjoyed getting started with The Door, going to various different places and meeting lots of new young people. Now I’m looking forward to getting to know the young people even more and starting youth work training with the support of a joyful and fab team. 🙂
