Mentoring Gateway Support Assistant

Based at The Door Youth Project, Stroud, Part-time, 6 hours per week, Temporary contract to 31 March 2021,  £10.72 to £12.08 per hour

Do you have a passion for seeing young people grow and reach their potential? Do you want to be part of an amazing charity with a committed team of people dedicated to supporting young people? Then this could the role you have been looking for.

The Door is a Christian youth charity, established in 1991 in Stroud, Gloucestershire for the benefit of all young people aged 11 to 25 and their families.  It’s a place where every young person and their parents can feel safe, happy and valued, with the best possible opportunity to reach their potential.

As the demand for our services increases, this is an exciting time to join the team as we work to implement innovative ways to support young people in need. We have piloted a remote support service, where face-to-face support is not available or appropriate, and due to its success and funding recently received, we are currently looking to expand this service and employ an engaging and enthusiastic individual to support the existing team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading 2 evening support sessions per week, allowing the service to expand, and support the team with data collection to monitor performance and evaluate outcomes.  They will need to be available on Tuesday and Friday evenings and have an awareness of the issues facing young people today, and the ability to communicate effectively with both volunteers and young people.

Closing date: Wednesday 7 October 2020.

Interviews are likely to be held on Wednesday 14 October.
