Get Started with Music

I am delighted to inform you that The Prince’s Trust will be running ‘Get Started in Music’ in partnership with The Music Works from 8th-12th June 2015..

The Get Started in Music programme is aimed at young people who are 16-25 and not engaged in education, employment or training.

Get Started in Music allows young people to gain experience in song-writing, music production and recording through practical workshops. They will visit a professional studio and meet artists, work in groups to produce their own piece of music they can showcase at the end and will gain a relevant arts-based qualification.

This programme is for anyone who is interested in music but also would like to build on their confidence and motivation.

Each young person will receive 3 months support to move into education, training or employment.

If you are working with a young person who would like to find out more about the music industry, we would very much like to hear from you.

Interested young people will be invited to attend a Taster session on the 4th June if they are Prince’s Trust eligible. Young person will be made aware of timings when booked on. Once invited, each young person will be given specific details.

Attending the Taster session does not guarantee a place on the course. The Taster session forms part of our recruitment process, allowing the young person to find out more about the course, and in conjunction with The Prince’s Trust, to decide if the course is suitable.  Places will be given to those young people who can demonstrate readiness for the programme and a commitment to work with the Trust and develop their skills towards further education, employment or training.

The programme runs from 8th – 12th June 2015.  Times are likely to be 10.00am-4.00pm.
