As we step into a new year, The Door enters a season of renewal, hope, and fresh possibilities. January always brings the sense of new beginnings, but this year that feeling is especially powerful. Over recent months, we have been reshaping and reorganising our work so that everything we do continues to place our young people at the heart of our mission. This intentional refocusing prepares us not just for the year ahead, but for the years beyond, as we commit ourselves once again to offering safety, belonging, and transformation for all who access our services.

In March, we will be launching our new five-year strategy at a special Celebration Evening, and I warmly invite you to join us. (Tuesday 17th March, 6:30pm for 7pm at Stroud Subscription Rooms) This gathering will set out our priorities for the future—strengthening our core services, focusing on early intervention, deepening our partnerships, and continually improving the opportunities we offer to young people. Your presence and prayers will mean so much as we step boldly into this next chapter together.

As we move forward, I also want to offer a brief but heartfelt tribute to all the volunteer mentors who are stepping back following the closure of the volunteer-led mentoring service. Their care, compassion, and dedication have left a legacy that will continue to bless young people, parents and families for many years to come, and we are deeply thankful for all they have given.

Do take a look at our recent newsletter, full of opportunities to join us in what God is doing through The Door—events to attend, ways to get involved, and moments to support and encourage the young people we serve. I invite you to journey with us into this season of growth, possibility, and hope.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
